Abstract

Building waste is one of the largest contributors to the solid waste category that has a negative impact on the environment. To reduce this impact, recycling and sustainable design approaches are innovative solutions that can be applied in the field of product design. This research aims to design and realize a standing lamp that utilizes building waste materials, such as used wood, metal pipes, and concrete chips, as the main material. The methods used include literature study, material exploration, and product design and prototyping process. The results show that building waste can be processed into functional and aesthetic interior products, while maintaining structural strength and artistic value. The designed standing lamp not only functions as a lighting element, but also as a symbol of awareness of the importance of sustainability and waste reduction. This study proves that incorporating ecological and aesthetic values in product design enables creative solutions based on a circular economy.
